These are the best endgame Gunlances in Wilds right now

What is the best Gunlance in Monster Hunter Wilds? The Gunlance, used effectively, can be one of the most devastating and destructive weapons in all of Monster Hunter. That trend very much continues in Capcom's latest entry, Monster Hunter Wilds, which has a full Gunlance weapon tree of over 60 prime specimens ready to fire enormous shells of Wyvernfire towards any nearby monsters - wyvern or otherwise.

Still, not all Gunlances were created equal, even at the very end of the upgrade tree. In this guide, we'll reveal which are the very best Gunlances in Monster Hunter Wilds in the current meta, taking into account everything from raw damage to shelling types, elements, and much more.

"An Ajara Gunpike by its true name. Arrogantly, and with an absence of mercy, it eradicates all defiers."

The Ajara-Kalika is generally my go-to Gunlance when I want Wide Shelling (and I usually do). The Blast element just makes total sense with a Gunlance, and with great damage stats across the board and a high amount of white sharpness to spare, there's very little not to enjoy with this mighty Gunlance. My favourite bonus is the Lv2 Load Shells skill, which offsets the lower shell capacity of the Wide Shelling type, and considerably decreases reloading time. An all-round fantastic weapon.

How to get Ajara-Kalika:

The Ajara-Kalika Gunlance is the final form of the Ajarakan tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Hope Gunlance I: 200z
  2. Hope Gunlance II: 2x Iron Ore, 500z
  3. Triple Bayonet I: 1x Machalite Ore, 2x Earth Crystal, 800z
  4. Ajara Gunpike I: 3x Ajarakan Scale, 2x Ajarakan Ridge, 1x Ajarakan Jewel, 1500z
  5. Ajara Gunpike II: 2x Ajarakan Certificate S, 3x Ajarakan Ridge+, 2x Ajarakan Jewel+, 1x Ajarakan Marrow, 10000z
  6. Ajara-Kalika: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Ajarakan Carapace, 1x Ajarakan Medulla, 20000z

G. Lawful Bors

"An upgraded G. Veldian Hasta. A shield to end all suffering, and a lance to obliterate injustice."

The G. Lawful Bors is another Wide Shelling Gunlance with extremely high raw damage (552 vs the Ajara-Kalika's 483), some decent Dragon Element damage for use against powerful monsters like Arkveld and Gore Magala, and two Lv3 gem slots for further buffing the weapon's power. All this comes at the usual cost of slightly lower sharpness, and a negative affinity (-10%), which you should try to offset with other gems and Skills before putting this phenomenally powerful Gunlance to work.

How to get G. Lawful Bors:

The G. Lawful Bors Gunlance is the final form of the Guardian Arkveld tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Bone Gunlance I: 2x Mystery Bone, 500z
  2. Quematrice Culebrina I: 1x Firestone, 1x Quematrice Tail, 1x Dragonite Ore, 1500z
  3. Quematrice Culebrina II: 1x Firestone, 1x Quematrice Tail, 1x Dragonite Ore, 1500z
  4. G. Veldian Hasta I: 3x Guardian Scale, 3x Guardian Pelt, 1x Guardian Blood, 2x Tough Guardian Bone, 2600z
  5. G. Veldian Hasta II: 6x Guardian Scale+, 6x Guardian Pelt+, 3x Guardian Blood+, 1x Dragonbone Relic, 10000z
  6. G. Lawful Bors: 5x Hunter Symbol Ill, 4x Arkveld Calloushell, 2x Arkveld Tail, 1x Arkveld Gem, 20000z

White Cannon

Our final Gunlance pick is the White Cannon, another Blast-Element Gunlance this time made from Gravios parts. It matches the G. Lawful Bors' extreme raw damage, and on top of that it adds considerably more Blast Damage than the Ajara-Kalika had to offer. To put it plainly, it's an absolute monster for damage, and it also comes with Lv3 Guard Up and +30 Defense Bonus for soaking up damage while you aim your mightiest of shots. Just remember to offset that -15% affinity first!

How to get White Cannon:

The White Cannon Gunlance is the final form of the Gravios tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. White Gunlance I: 2x Gravios Certificate S, 5x Gravios Wing, 3x Gravios Skull, 4x Gravios Pleura+, 10000z
  2. White Cannon: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Gravios Carapace, 1x Gravios Medulla, 1x Wyvern Gem, 20000z
