The Fujifilm Mirrorless camera is not just a device for capturing important moments or beautiful views: for some, it is also an accessory for images. This kind of camera, which successfully mimics the body of magnesium under a retro SLR camera, can only interest us from the outside. But it is also internally interesting – for example, an APS-C format sensor was used here, which not so long ago was uncomfortable for professional photographic equipment.

The lens is also interesting – with aspherical optical elements and power zoom. The only thing I didn’t like about the whale optics is the narrow range of focal lengths (15-45 mm), I’d love to see the “long end” at 75-85, but it seems to be done for compactness. The camera itself is also small in size but allows you to take full advantage of the entire line of optics with the Fujifilm X mount.

The image quality of the camera is very decent, although the matrix with the Bayer filter is simplified compared to the “older” cameras. Up to ISO 3200, you can work quietly without losing detail due to increased noise levels or aggressive software noise reduction. Fast autofocus is satisfying, but some lag in the electronic viewfinder is obviously present and can interfere with the dynamics when shooting.

However, on the whole, the camera turned out to be very interesting, and we will no doubt give it our vote.

Main advantages:

  • Not only stylish, but also durable
  • Quality lens for whales
  • Swivel screen
  • 91-point hybrid focus
  • Practical management
  • USB charging

Against:

  • Small focal length range for optics whales
  • Video in 4K – purely “marketing”, with 15 fps

Canon EOS M50 Kit

Canon EOS M50 Best camera for concert photography looks more modest, but it also has something to brag about. Inside the polycarbonate case (and unfortunately not magnesium, such as Fujifilm) is hidden a matrix with proprietary Dual Pickel technology that allows the camera to focus quickly and clearly on both stationary and moving objects. 99 focus points are available with all EF-M lenses, and with some models, you can use as many as 143 points (frame coverage – 80% width and 100% height).

The controls and menus of the camera are convenient and understandable – usually “canon” (well, this is the author’s personal point of view). The camera is able to give a quality “image” already in automatic modes, but, of course, the “manual” ones are not forgotten either. There are two lens options on the whales, both with optical stabilization and quiet autofocus (STM). The first, like Fujifilm, is limited in focal lengths from 15 to 45 mm, the second gives a complete choice from wide-angle (18 mm) to telephoto (150 mm) “ends”. The second is, of course, more universal, and for a beginner photographer it will cover almost all tasks – but the first lens is also interesting for its compactness. Unfortunately, the aperture ratio is small even at the “wide end”, which is inconvenient at dusk, and they will not be able to blur the background to zero during portrait shooting. No, since the camera allows you to use any EF and EF-S lens via an adapter, where the choice is great even among genuine Canon optics, and the prices on the secondary device are sometimes very tasty, it’s not hard to find a replacement kit for certain applications. But you can still remember the adapter with M42, Pentax K, and so on – here the choice of optics (although without autofocus and manual aperture) is completely huge.

So the author would sum it up like this: if you want a stylish, indestructible camera, just to take beautiful photos with whale optics, you have to buy at most one more lens – you need Fujifilm. But if you want to experiment (by the way, record a full 4K) – turn to the window with the inscription Canon.

Main advantages:

  • Fast hybrid AF with great frame coverage
  • Possibility of installing a very large number of lenses

and for her they recently started broadcasting Magic Lantern (but this is not for beginners, but “for growth”)

Against:

  • Low autonomy when there is no possibility of charging via USB

Sony Alpha ILCE-6000

Sony Alpha ILCE-6000 Best point and shoot film camera Compact size (which even the flash has succeeded in) and fast autofocus, high image quality – these are serious pluses of “six thousand”. The 179 AF points are still impressive, but the camera was introduced a few years ago. It’s just a pity that you can’t point your finger directly at the screen at which point you have to focus – you have to use Navidad.

The whale’s lens was, of course, the most disturbing – for a person who just wants to “buy and rent” (since we’re talking about cameras for beginners), a better “gain” would be more interesting. You grow out of a full 16-50 years too fast, starting to realize that it is noticeably dark, soapy, clearly of low resolution for a 24-megapixel APS-C matrix. If you need a soft portrait – please (but I would like a larger opening), but for sharp and detailed photos you will have to look for a replacement, and the choice for the Sony E mount is not that big. There is a “double kit”, to which another lens with a focal length range of 55-200 mm has been added, but it also suffers from the same problems. So, we are supplied with adapters – in terms of price-performance ratio, the choice of optics from another system is the most recommended.

But what you can’t take away from the camera is the beauty of color reproduction, color saturation, and the accuracy of the exposure meter: it’s definitely “tasty” here, despite the years. But, considering the price at which the ruble goes into the ruble with Fujifilm, we cannot give it a high rating: there are cameras and even more interesting.

Main advantages:

  • Great autofocus that you can talk about for a long time
  • The quality of the matrix is clearly noticeable when working with RAV, but JPEG cameras are “juicy”
  • Compact and light weight

Against:

  • Inappropriate focus point selection
  • Extremely inappropriate camera optics

So – which camera is better for a beginner?

Read article: DSLR vs mirrorless

In the articles about the camera, about the question “what should I look for?”, We have already talked several times. Let’s think about something else – is it worth looking at a series of beginner photographers for “most beginners”?

There is an unequivocal opinion, and not only of the author – “no”. The fact is that such cameras in the hands of an inexperienced photographer in terms of photo quality are quite capable of losing even on a smartphone for the same money – well unless the optical zoom saves them instead of purely digital. Having mastered at least the basic principles of composition, learning to distinguish exposure from the aperture, and focal length from exposure, you can already extract something from such cameras, but at this point, you realize that you have to squeeze out the quality.

Therefore, if you are interested in photography, you should first look in the direction of a class commonly called “advanced amateur”: such cameras already have better quality optics, less noisy and soap matrix and more adjustment options, while preserving “making tea”. Go through photo sites like Flickr or 500pk and you will see that many very beautiful photos (including perhaps the ones that inspired you to be interested in photos) were made especially for cameras of this class. By the way, the reliability of cameras of this class is higher than the “purely amateur” one.
